To my dear friends and family in the fellowship,

I’m writing this because I want to share a profound shift in my journey—one that I could only have dreamed of when I first walked through those doors, broken and searching for a glint of hope.

For a long time, I viewed recovery as a battle to be won or a weight to be carried. But today, I can see clearly that Alcoholics Anonymous was the triumphant arch through which I passed to reach a new life. I didn’t just survive the walk through that arch; I was fundamentally transformed by it.

The obsession has not just been lifted—it has been replaced. Where there was once a hollow ache, there is now a vibrant connection to the world around me. I am no longer living in the shadows of my past or the anxieties of my future. Instead, I am finally experiencing the fullness of life in the present moment.

What This Means to Me Today:

True Connection:I can look you in the eye and feel a part of, rather than apart from.

Purpose: My experiences, even the darkest ones, have become the tools to help others.

Abundance: “Life more abundant” isn’t just a phrase from the Big Book anymore; it’s my daily reality.

I am eternally grateful to this program and to all of you for holding the lantern while I found my way. The steps provided the path, but the fellowship provided the courage to walk it.

I’m not just sober; I am awake, and Alive!. Thank you for helping me find the person I was always meant to be.

With love and service,

Nathan K.
